Almonds and Wine an animation about Jewish marriages through 3 generations

I was emailed this great animation from my aunt. I really love how weddings were originally a contract, and that the parents had some investment in the marriage. To me this seems like it would lead to a more stable marriage as opposed to one based only on love, a fleeting emotion.  Also divorce was more risky and carried with it shame, so marriages tended to last. Were they happy? I dunno but the less choices people tend to have the happier they tend to be, which is strange psychological theory I think. Also not sure why the groom is wearing pink other than to make him stand out visually.
